“Taming Your Inner Voice”

Many of us experience an ‘inner voice’ – the voice inside our head that relays comments, thoughts, ideas or suggestions. As such, it is not unusual to experience a sense of anxiety. “What is the work of growing our leadership?”

In a business school leadership development residential program we facilitated a few years ago, a participant called his four year son to talk at the end of every day. His partner had told their son that his father had gone away to learn how to become a leader. Every night his son would ask him “Daddy, are you a leader yet?” Sharing this in the group it took off in a playful way, but then there were these random moments when someone would ask “So, are you are a leader now”?
